The first tour leaves Haleiwa Harbor at 7:00 a.m. and lasts two hours. Additional tours are available throughout the day. North Shore Shark Adventures uses two 32-foot Anderson boats with a swim step at the stern. Safety of our passengers is our first concern and we will begin the tour with an informative safety briefing. People may bring their own mask and snorkel, however, fins are not necessary, masks and snorkels are provided. The sharks we see range in size from five to fifteen feet. These sharks will often be inches away from the cage and the spectators inside. We will travel offshore approximately three to four miles. Once we get to the area, the shark cage is placed into the beautiful cobalt blue water. The visibility is so good (often 200 feet or more) that you can actually see the sharks come up from the deep. The cage can hold two people very comfortably. People are encouraged to bring underwater cameras because they will be able to get some of the best photographs of Hawaiian sharks possible anywhere. North Shore Shark Adventures has been featured on the BBC Outdoors in England, ESPN Outdoors and soon will be on Canadian Wildlife Television, Wheel of Fortune and The Travel Channel. People from around the world, including England, Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, and from almost every State in the mainland have enjoyed the tour. Some of the people that come on the tour have never been in the ocean before. Many of people come with a phobia about sharks. After our tour their inhibitions and fears disappear and they have a greater respect for sharks and their beauty.
